Boreal Station NM Chest Run - Drop Rates?
Hey guys,
I've managed to collect enough lockpicks to get my treasure hunter title the NM low cost method way. Just wondering if anyone know the Gold to Grape drop rates since I want to try and figure out the approximate progress i'll make on my Wisdom title. Thanks.
STATS UPDATE:
First 100 chests
23 Golds to 77 Grapes
Next 100 chests
30 Golds to 70 Grapes

will be interested to see the other responses...
when I ran the last 1400 chests for my title out there I did it almost all in HM for this reason-- while in HM there was almost always 1-2 chests within speed running range (avg 1-1 1/2 minutes) yet when I did in nm there were quite a few runs where there were no chests at all within the "speed area". I would be surprised if anyone actually took the time to catalogue/chart the drop rate in nm though.... lets see

1/3 gold items drop rate in NM chests is pretty accurate.

You could always run through the second Boxing quest. There is also usually about 1 or 2 chests in there if you just keep running and hold down your Alt key.

There is always 1 chest in Kilroy Stonekin's Punchout Extravaganza / Fronis Irontoe's Lair.
I never ran Boreal in NM: the chance @ getting Elite Tomes is too good to pass up, regardless of the higher chance to break Picks. At least, it is to me.
Of course, now that Wisdom and TH are account-wide Titles, if you need more Golds just farm Raptors. Boring, but getting 5 golds in <1 minute is worth it. Of course, you aren't going to get 5 golds each run, but with the capability of running it 60 times/hour (every time I use the /age command after killing all the Raptor Nestlings I get the message "You have been in this map for 0 minutes.") it doesn't matter. You'll still get a ton of Golds to ID if you don't get them from Chest-running.

It would still end up being cheaper buying the rest of your unid, than it would cost you breaking off all of those picks in HM. I think you could browse through the stats on wiki to get a more exact value on it.

id rather run hm tbh, u get more golds which is beneficial to your wisdom and tomes about every 10-20 chests is good, not to mention ud break even from selling the tomes back, merchfood / mods
and also you wiki doesnt calculate mods/tomes etc

i ran in HM also...with 46 lockpicks i managed to get around 30 golds, 2 elite tomes (monk and ranger) and 2 or 3 tomes. The thing with tomes is, if you use them for yourself they are 1k (max skill cost) but if you sell them they are somewhere between 200-1000g.
So imo its a bit hard to say if its any good to run HM.
Total cost: 69k on lockpicks (merch price)
Total Profit: 35k, 2k unlucky 1k lucky and 30 wisdom pts

Didn't notice my thread was still alive haha.
I have tried using picks in HM and without a doubt, it's possible to break even with better mods and (Elite) tombs, but unfortunately i'm probably going to be stuck with NM.
Unfortunately, because my online time is really restricted (max about 350 chests a week). With the title taking more than 6 months at that rate, I can't really afford making time to wait/barter in Spamadam.
Update: I placed a stat on my first post in case anyone else was looking to do TH from Boreal Station NM chests.
